cheerios first birthday
Cheerios are always a favorite among the one year-old set. Mom Sandra made that the theme of her cute son Alex’s first birthday party! Lots of homemade details, from Emily Abril.

Creative mom Laura threw her 2 year-old son a ‘trashcan’ birthday (in ode to his current obsession). She says, “The hit of the party was decorating the neighborhood trashcans and then parading them down the street!” From Ascot Friday.
I was so happy that Taylor made sure I saw Birch’s ‘Goodnight Moon’ party! What a cute idea for a first birthday. Among the things I love is the dessert table which reads, ‘Goodnight cupcakes.’ Whitney and the gang even hand-painted a mural in homage of the book. (And of course I can’t resist that they used Hicks!). More here.
Another great back to school celebration from the stupendous Nie Nie. This lady never ceases to amaze me. Her theme this year for her four kids was ‘to learn with joy.’ I think we could all take that to heart!
Some great ideas from mom Abby for a ‘school rules’ party. The crayon vase is so clever, as is the ruler crowns. This sort of celebration would get any kid excited for the school days ahead!
Thank you to reader Natasha for making sure I saw this gem from Hula Seventy! Lovin’ the rainbow nail polish on the girls.
Sometimes nothing beats an at-home party, where everything is crafted by mom. Sydney approached this space party for her son’s 4th birthday armed with a sense of humor as well.
Her invitation read, “Houston, we have a problem….Shuttle Commander Luke Strickland has decided to scrub the current mission plan to turn 4 this year and has devised a new flight plan which, if successful, will allow him to turn 5 instead. He is assembling a flight crew to help him orbit the Earth and cross the International Date Line 365 times within a 24 hour period. Launch sequence will commence on June 19, 2010. Any Astronauts crazy enough to join him on this Space Mission must be at the Launch Pad by 10:00 hours. URGENT WARNING: Commander Strickland’s Space Shuttle is already over NASA weight restrictions, therefore absolutely NO GIFTS will be permitted. Repeat, NO GIFTS will be permitted. Do you copy? Over…”
Parisian-themed 16th birthday from Petite Marie.
This is as cute as a garage door can get for a party (I think)! Very fun ‘pinwheel’ first birthday from you are my fave.
Lots of moo-inspired ideas at
