i’m back
I’m back from my small, self-imposed sabbatical. I kept taking mini-breaks between blogging and found the breaks so wonderful that I decided I wanted to take more breaks. And then some more. And maybe a couple more.
I think we are all trying to strike a balance, and I found myself feeling really off-balance and needing a vacation from technology, work, and blogging, among other things.
We tried to make a lot of things low-key this summer, including parties around our house. My husband celebrated his birthday at home with us- and at his request to get ‘nothing’ for his birthday, I bought him nothing, but wrapped the kids up in streamers, decorated the house, and let them pick out a Dora ice cream cake. Which was perhaps the perfect gift. There’s really nothing better than knowing you’re loved at home, right?
So perhaps you didn’t even notice that I was gone, but now I’m baaaaack. At least I hope I am. I’m making a vow to be better about responding to your emails and comments. I’m also making personal vow, however, that I have to prioritize family first, and sometimes that means not responding (I hope you understand). Please know that I appreciate each and every one of you, and the time you spend here, gathering inspiration on this site and thus, making me feel a part of your cherished moments and memories.
I’m finally feeling invigorated for the first time in a long time- and I hope to pass that enthusiasm along to you!
Hi Sara,
I have definitely missed you! But I know it’s hard to balance everything, my blog has been taking a back seat recently too. Glad to hear you feel invigorated though I hope it keeps up! xx
Welcome back!
what a clever idea to wrap you kids up! my husbands birthday is this weekend and wants nothing…what do i do with that? Our 2 year old little girl would love to be wrapped in streamers! thanks!
The kids definitely loved it!
Glad to have you back Sara!
thank you!
I’m glad you are back. Yours is one of the few blogs I try to check regukarly. I have taken many many blogging breaks (both posting and reading) to keep my focus where it needs to be. I love your posts as they inspire me regularly (perhaps even a little too much at times!). Welcome back!
nice you are back
