house for sale!
My goodness…where have I been, you might ask? Between kids, work deadlines, and getting ready to sell our house, life has been hectic. We are finally getting it on the market. I hope there is someone out there who can appreciate our gem.
I remember as a kid my aunt telling me she bought a house that she was ‘busy making into a home.’ Not until I became a home-owning adult did I appreciate that sentiment. Houses are just houses until they become homes, right? For me, this house became a home the moment I brought my first baby here. And then even more so with my second baby. Add all of that ‘life’ to a house and suddenly it becomes a home. When I look around I don’t just see walls and floors anymore, I see moments. Sink baths, dinners with friends, playtime outside, glasses of wine on the deck. Selling a house sure can be bittersweet.
When we began our search process for our current home, I said I wanted to use the word ‘nestled’ to describe it. After having a set of rough neighbors we decided we needed a little space. We got exactly what we wanted- nestled in a hillside, surrounded by nature. Just yesterday my son got so excited when he spotted a deer out our window munching on some grass!
Who knows where the wind will blow us next. I’m just grateful for some time here, in this special place.
(If you know of anyone in the Nashville, Tennessee area who might be interested just shoot me an )
You definitely made me sniff with the kids in the sink. Good luck. How can anyone not want that adorable front door!
I will spread the word
oh sara… i know this sounds weird but i’m sad to hear you’re leaving your house. i’ve always admired it from your party pics {and now that i see that gorgeous kitchen i wish i could move to nashville and buy it myself}. glad you’re moving on for good reasons though, and i’m sure your new home will be even sweeter.
Good luck but I am sure you won’t need it given that your house is so gorgeous! The yellow front door always makes me smile when I see it! Although it’s a little sad to say “goodbye” it’s great to look forward to a whole new adventure.
Happy weekend to you, Stephie x
Your kitchen backsplash is simply eyecatching; I love it! Any information you can pass on about it would be greatly appreciated. Your blog is a regular favorite and you are clearly great at what you do. Such an eye for design! Thank you for your inspiration:)
Hi Robin- thanks so much! I’m afraid I don’t have a name brand for you- I bought it at a local store that doesn’t have any national affiliations. It’s a penny round white tile with a matte finish, if that is helpful. best, sara
